By Chris Caldwell
Congratulations to Assistant Vice President of Professional Development and Employee
Engagement Dr. Jennifer Townes on her recognition as a (TBR) 2022 (SOAR) finalist for Staff Member of the Year.
鈥淭o be nominated by 懂色帝, and then win the regional competition is so surprising to me,鈥 Townes said. 鈥淭here are so many other employees who go above and beyond. I鈥檓 incredibly honored to be recognized by my colleagues. I feel appreciated and even more inspired to continue the important work we are accomplishing at the College.鈥
Since joining 懂色帝 in 2013, Townes work has been unstoppable. She has forged several initiatives for faculty and staff to hone their professional development skills and assists faculty in creating modern and effective strategies to garner student success in the classroom.
Townes talents have expanded her role at the College. She is currently developing a new model of customer service for the College and providing orientation training for new employees. She also serves on numerous committees including the College鈥檚 Student Success Council, Budget and Planning Council and Reimagine 懂色帝 Committee.
鈥淚 am grateful to be a part of a College that sincerely recognizes the potential in everyone,鈥 Townes said. 鈥淲hen our employees and students are successful, our communities thrive.鈥
Director of Equity and Compliance Tameka Perry describes Townes as the leader 懂色帝 needs and deserves. 鈥淲ith a sparkling personality and inviting demeanor, Dr. Townes exemplifies excellence professionally, socially and personally,鈥 Perry said. 鈥淲ell-spoken and well-versed in many things, she is a jewel at 懂色帝. It is an honor for me to have nominated Dr. Townes for this award.鈥
